People often ask "what is the meaning of life?" For thousands of years, philosophers, prophets, scientists, and artists have tried to find and express the answer to this question. Well, I am here to tell you this: meaning is a human invention. We impose it on the universe, but it does not obey our thinking. Science is amended daily and religion fades into tradition. The only constant is the infinite majesty and mystery of the universe, which continues to change, oblivious to us. We are not its masters nor its creators. Breathe. Think. Feel. Understand. That is you, experiencing, but not creating. Feeling, but not imposing. The true beauty of life is that we are given the opportunity to observe the chaotic clockwork of reality. So go. Feel something. See something. Listen to something. Capitalize on the rare gift of life, because you will be dead one day, and your tombstone will fade, and the ones you love will die as well, and you will not have mattered to the universe, only to those who share the ride with you. Love them. Be kind to strangers. Demonstrate the humility of understanding your role in the universe, and may everyone on Earth pause to consider themselves, creatures clinging to a mote of dust drifting endlessly through an eternal and chaotic world. We are travelers, you and I, and there is more to see than anyone could possibly imagine.
Whoops! Guess 31 deviations every day was a bit more than I could chew. Oh well, how does several short stories/essays/poems uploaded intravenously throughout the month sound?
